Certificate for evening school
Can I have my attendance at evening school certified?
The evening school is a continuing education program that can be used in different ways. Some people may only watch individual episodes, others may wish to obtain a certificate for this further training. In order to obtain a certificate, you would need to have watched at least 10 evening school plays and worked on and reworked them (this corresponds to a one-semester course at the university) and take a final exam on the course. The exam is designed as a take-home exam and can be taken from the comfort of your own home.
What questions will be asked?
We are aware that, depending on your field of work, you will have set your own priorities when attending the evening school. This means that people who work with children will watch the children's plays, whereas people from an adult education context will not. But they will almost certainly have seen our beautiful play on political adult education. We have therefore designed the exam in such a way that you select 10 fields from 15 subject areas and only complete tasks in the selected fields. Each task is assessed with a maximum of 5 points. To pass the exam, you must achieve at least 25 points.
The tasks are formulated in a competence-oriented manner. This means that, as a rule, you will not be given knowledge tasks, but application and reflection tasks. For orientation and preparation, you can take another look at the self-assessment tasks. However, we also recommend that you take a look at the in-depth literature compiled for each lecture.
When can I take the exam?
In spring 2026, the procedure was as follows:
You were sent the written exam on 15.04.2026. Our aim is for the exam - just like the JoDDiD evening school - to be flexible and tailored to your needs, which is why you had until 21.04. to complete the exam. You can therefore choose a suitable time within this week, take breaks and even listen to whole pieces again. You should then send us the results by 21.04. at the latest.
The next exam is expected to take place in October 2026. The exact date will be set soon.
If you are now interested in taking the exam, please register by sending an email to stilla.stitz@tu-dresden.de.
Which training certificate can I obtain?
You will receive a continuing education certificate from TU Dresden confirming your successful participation in a one-semester continuing education module in the field of political and democratic education. The thematic focus of the certificate will be the topics you have chosen as part of the Take Home exam. As this is a university module, if you are enrolled at another university, you can also have your own university check whether the continuing education module can be recognized as part of your education.
