On the nationwide day of remembrance of the victims (Enver Şimşek, Abdurrahim Özüdoğru, Süleyman Taşköprü, Habil Kılıç, Mehmet Turgut, İsmail Yaşarar, Theodoros Boulgarides, Mehmet Kubaşık, Halit Yozgat, Michéle Kiesewetter) of the NSU, the Saxon State Ministry of Justice and for Democracy, Europe and Equality and the City of Zwickau are organizing a joint day of remembrance and education today, 04.11.2021, the 10th anniversary of the self-unmasking of the NSU core trio in Zwickau, the Saxon State Ministry of Justice and Democracy, Europe and Equality and the City of Zwickau are organizing a joint commemorative and educational day entitled: "Is it enough? - 10 years of coming to terms with the NSU" dialog event. In cooperation with the "offener Prozess" project, JoDDiD is organizing a workshop entitled "Anders besser?! Consequences of the NSU for education, training and further education", which is aimed at employees in education, training and further education in the justice system. Numerous committees of inquiry have dealt with the NSU complex and have shown the state authorities neuralgic points and opportunities for optimization. Against this background, the workshop will address the following questions, among others: How can the lessons learned from the NSU complex be incorporated into initial, further and continuing training and used for future administrative action? Which practices and methods can make public sector employees more aware of anti-democratic processes, including hidden ones? How can the teaching of democracy-enhancing narratives, diversity-oriented and discrimination-sensitive educational content be strengthened? The workshop will provide an impulse response with practical examples and present approaches to applied didactics that were developed as handouts in the "Open Process" educational project funded by the Free State of Saxony.
