Adaptive nonlinear autocorrelation of ultrashort light pulses
Novel types of adaptive optical components enable for non-diffracting and low-dispersion shaping of ultrashort light pulses. This promises future applications for laser measuring tech-niques and pulse diagnostics. We report on recent experiments to determine the 2nd order intensity autocorrelation function of sub-3-cycle near-infrared pulses. It is shown that the self-reconstruction properties of Bessel-like beams can be extended by exploiting the adaptive functionality. Approaches for more-complete pulse characterization and phase-shift techniques are discussed.
