This programme is regulated otherwise. Please read here about the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP) or get in contact with the ERASMUS coordinator.
The majority of our partner universities offer English-speaking courses or degree programs.
If you only attend English taught courses, you only need to provide proof of English proficiency to the EuI faculty and the partner university.
For everyday life, it would of course be advisable to know a little of the local language; you can learn this at TUDIAS, for example.
Further information on the individual partner universities can be found in the Mobility online portal and in this overview about study possibilities and English taught offer.
- Are there enough suitable courses according to your study programme for 30 ECTS/semester plus backup courses (in case of schedule conflicts, etc.)?

- Language of instruction:

Fill out the online application form.
The application deadline is 31st January, 2026!
Please upload your transcript of records approved by the examination office as well as your language certificate.
An application guide (in German only) will help you with the first steps of your application.
The Learning Agreement has to be handed in only after the placement.
You will receive further information after the placement procedure.
Based on this application, the ERASMUS coordinator will assign a study place at one of your preferred partner universities, taking into account your academic achievements, study progress and language skills. This completes the first step - applying to the faculty.
Please find detailed information about the proceedings after you have been accepted on the website of the TU Dresden International Office.
The Learning Agreement is part of the application to the partner university. It is, among other documents, mandatory to receive the ERASMUS grant (mobility grant).
The Learning Agreement will specify which courses you would like to take at the partner university. You should achieve 30 ECTS per semester. Maximum around 6 of the 30 ECTS can be obtained for one or more language courses. The main part of the courses should be from your own study field.
The International Office provides detailed information about how to create the Learning Agreement, top "0.4".
If you need/want to change your original Learning Agreement during your ERASMUS stay, please read the FAQ "After your arrival abroad".
It is mandatory to fill in Table B (Recognition by the sending institution) in the digital Learning Agreement. However, this does not result in automatic recognition; this must be applied for separately. Recognition should not be requested using Table B. Instead, you should first enter the module/course names of the academic achievements that you PLAN to replace in your degree program with courses at the host university. There does not have to be a 1:1 correspondence between the number of courses in Tables A and B and the total number of ECTS credits.
Since there is no advance recognition, please add the following sentence: “Recognition of the Examination Office pending” or – if the students do not wish to have any courses credited – “Waiver of Recognition in advance.”
Read here about the recognition of academic achievements during the stay abroad (in German only).
ERASMUS students are advised to take a leave of absence for the duration of their study abroad. The leave of absence is counted as a university semester but not as a study semester (Fachsemester) and therefore no study time is "lost". Please consult the Admissions Office for advice on this.
It is possible to convert a semester of leave into a semester of study at a later date, depending on the credits earned. Please read about that on the website about recognition of academic achievements (in German only), FAQ "Anrechnung von Fachsemestern".
You can contact the Lehrzentrum Sprachen und Kulturräumeen (LSK) of the TU Dresden for the translation of the language certificate for free. Please allow for processing time.
TUDIAS provides English certificates for a fee.
You can receive an English-language transcript of records from the Examination Office.
