If it is not possible for you to spend one or two semesters abroad, e.g. if you are unable to participate in a long-term physical mobility activity for study purposes due to personal, family, health or course-related circumstances, short-term stays may be an alternative:

Blended short-term mobility (short-term stay)
means a combination of a shorter physical mobility with a virtual component (short-term blended mobility) or participation in a BIP (with a mandatory virtual phase). Blended short-term mobility is eligible for Erasmus funding.

Application and funding
Funding conditions: When participating in a blended short-term program, the physical mobility activity must last between 5 and 30 days and be complemented by a mandatory virtual component that enables a joint online learning experience and teamwork. A minimum of 3 ECTS credits must be achieved for the physical and virtual components combined.
- Check if the Blended Short Term program takes place at an Erasmus - partner university of the TUD and check with the subject coordinator of the cooperation if he/she approves and processes your application and nominates you at the host university.
- Registration via Mobility Online: Apply in Mobility Online for an available Erasmus place (green button = free place) at the host university.
- Nomination at the host university: The nomination can be made by the subject coordinator of the cooperation or the coordinator of your faculty.
- Application at the host university: After nomination by the coordinator, you apply for participation in the blended short term program directly to the call for applications at the host university.
- Funding: You will receive information on funding for a blended short-term mobility after registering in Mobility Online; see also Funding: You can count on this support.
- Once you have successfully applied for an Erasmus place via the mobility portal, the International Office will issue you with your grant agreement, which you must sign and return in the original.
- Create your digital Learning Agreement via your mobility workflow with at least 3 credits and have it signed in full (TUD and host university) before the start of your stay.
