Student Thesis
The Process-to-Order-Lab (P2O-Lab) offers the possibility to write a thesis. This allows you to participate directly in the research of the P2O-Lab, and at the same time to further your own qualifications. A list of advertised theses can be found here:
Detailed analysis of vaccine production and hurdles
Detailed analysis of vaccine production and hurdles
The Covid-19 pandemic has shown how important it is to react quickly to changing requirements. Setting up vaccine production facilities within one year has impressively shown what is already possible under the given boundary conditions. In this work, using the example of the production of active medical ingredients, a detailed analysis is to be made of the boundary conditions and drivers in the BioPhamra industry which are of particular importance from the point of view of automation and which will increasingly come to the fore in the future.

Modularization of brewing processes
The beer brewing process is a historically well known and demanding process. As is the case with existing plants in the chemical industry, a changeover to new trends in automation technology often involves a great deal of effort. In order to be able to assess the decision for the integration effort here, modular automation is to be conceptually integrated into brewery plants together with Ziemann Holvrieka in this work. Based on the specifications from the process and electrical engineering, a method is to be developed to generate a generic Functional Design Specification (FDS) from predefined control and equipment modules.
