MW-VNT-81 Wood preservation
Qualification goals
Students have basic knowledge of the effective protection of wood and wooden structures against damage caused by fungi and insects. They will be able to recognize the causes of biological timber damage and draw conclusions about the necessary remedial measures based on the detection of damage using various wood protection diagnostic methods. Furthermore, they have knowledge of preventive structural wood protection in compliance with normative regulations and methods of chemical wood protection (preventive and combative). Students will be able to recognize a specific case of damage in practice and document it in a complex manner.
Contents
The module covers the causes and tasks of wood preservation, the basics of wood-destroying fungi and insects, structural wood preservation, chemical-preventive and combative wood preservation as well as diagnostic methods in wood preservation on buildings.
