MW-VNT-97 Special process and control strategies in paper technology
Qualification goals
Students have knowledge of energy, water and quality management in paper production. They will be able to analyze, balance and optimize water, energy and material flows using statistical test planning, system analysis and balancing tools. They will have knowledge of process control systems and the special control strategies used, with particular consideration of the paper production process and/or process simulations.
Contents
The module covers the basics of technical communication and online measurement technology, process control and process control technology in the paper industry, modern control strategies and data-based process control. The module also covers energy and water management in paper production, in particular the optimization of energy use and approaches to finding potential energy savings, the complex water cycles, starting with fresh water treatment, through internal cycles to waste water treatment, as well as practical methods for evaluating water quality and selected process simulations.
