CRTD - Center for Regenerative Therapies TU Dresden

Prof. Dr. Chokri Cherif represents TU Dresden’s ITM as scientific member of the CRTD - Center for Regenerative Therapies TU Dresden.

The ITM contributes its competences from the research focus “Bio- and medical textiles”, including:

  • Production of innovative chitosan micro- and nanofibers for scaffold materials
  • Designing and development of 2D and 3D scaffolds with defined porosity for cell colonization in the tissue engineering of bone tissue based on chitosan, using the innovative “Net-shape nonwoven NSN” method
  • Structure characterization of textile-technically developed scaffolds
  • Development of tubular micro-implants by means of braiding technology
  • Tissue simulation and modeling, material development (including finishing) and characterization for the development of textile structures in medical applications
