Scholarships for the USA, Japan and other countries
Fulbright - USA
If you are planning to study in the USA in 2024/2025 as part of a German-American university partnership programme, you can apply for a travel grant from Fulbright Germany.
The scholarship includes, for example, the financing of travel expenses with a lump sum of 2,000 euros.

ASA-Stipendium 2024
The ASA programme is an exchange and scholarship programme in 45 countries worldwide for young people who want to change our world with their commitment. It comprises a project phase of at least three months in Germany and countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and South-East Europe as well as seminars for preparation and follow-up. Engagement Global awards 280 scholarships each year on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
You can apply for over 100 projects abroad until 20 January. There is a suitable project for every field of study and specialisation.
Prerequisite: age between 21 and 30.

Heinrich Böll Foundation
The Heinrich Böll Foundation is the green political foundation.
Under the motto "A tailwind for talent", it supports around 1,000 students and 200 doctoral candidates from all disciplines in Germany and abroad every year. Up to 250 new scholarship holders are selected each year.

Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program at GSAPS, Waseda University - Japan
This programme is sponsored by the Japanese government and awards a full scholarship that includes round-trip airfare, tuition fees, entrance fees and a monthly stipend for a two-year MA programme and a three-year Ph.D. programme in Japan.
Application period: 18-25 December 2023 (for entry in September 2024).
