Saxon State Library – Dresden State and University Library
Are you new to Dresden or are you considering starting a degree programme at TU Dresden? Then you are in the right place! The Saxon State Library-Dresden State and University Library (SLUB) is one of the largest academic libraries in Germany. We offer knowledge in every form - traditional and state-of-the-art: from the Codex Dresdensis of the Maya, original manuscripts of Martin Luther to the daily updated dissertations of all academic disciplines; from music manuscripts of Johann Sebastian Bach, design photos of the 1920s to the most modern three-dimensional map programs.

We share knowledge and connect people: in training courses, our SLUBlog, discussion series, dialogue concerts and the Long Night of Science! Because knowledge comes from doing, we not only expand our stock of several million media every day in the classic library way, but also in our TextLab and in the SLUB Makerspace. With a reading room, group rooms, Wi-Fi, a lawn and many other facilities, we provide ideal learning and working conditions - every day. Feel free to drop by, we look forward to seeing you!
Register at the library (SLUB) and book an appointment for an introductory course helping you with the start of your studies.
