"GorbitzDialog" on cold air currents near the ground on 25.09.2024
On September 25, 2024, Dresden-Gorbitz High School cordially invites all interested parties to the "GorbitzDialog" dialog event. The topic of the third dialog event will be cold air currents near the ground, which can provide cooling on clear nights. Students from the Natural Sciences profile will present their project on measuring cold air currents and will talk to Dr. Ronald Queck, a research associate at the Chair of Meterology at TU Dresden. Dr. Ronald Queck steps in a dialogue on the project moderated by the students. Following on from this, the moderators will ask Dr. Queck subject-related questions. A lecture by Dr. Queck on "Urban climate and cold air flow" and the opportunity for the audience to ask questions will round off the dialog event.
The TU Dresden has developed the "GorbitzDialog" cooperation format in close partnership with the Dresden-Gorbitz grammar school, which brings together schools, science, business and the local community. The project aims to promote interest in STEM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, technology) in a socially diverse and age-independent manner and thus counteract the shortage of skilled workers in the long term. Twice a year, the Dresden-Gorbitz grammar school opens its doors to interested members of the public to discuss topics from the profile lessons.
