ARCHITECTURE TALKS project week
As part of the TUD Dresden University of Technology's Excellence Strategy and in cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture and the Saxony Chamber of Architects, the Architecture Talks project week took place for the first time at the COSMO science forum in Dresden. The project week offered 23 pupils from the LEO grammar school and the Sempergymnasium Dresden an exciting opportunity to engage intensively with architecture and landscape architecture. Over the course of the week, ideas for redesigning the two schoolyards were developed and visualized using sketches, drawings and mood boards. The participants also implemented their designs in three-dimensional models, giving them a tangible understanding of scale and spatial relationships. They received professional support from students and teachers of architecture and landscape architecture, including Dr. Felix Greiner-Petter, Carola Handrianz, Saskia Remmler and Max Georgi.
The project week ended with the final presentation of all the designs in the ballroom of the TUD Dresden University of Technology. Ines Senftleben, a renowned architect, started with a keynote speech that motivated the participants, gave them valuable insights into further projects and conveyed opportunities for participation. The highlight of the event was the presentation of the innovative design ideas in front of an audience of experts, parents and interested parties.
The work created during the project week was presented to the public on June 14, 2024 at the Dresden Science Night at the Kulturpalast Dresden.
