Admission requirements
To be admitted to the degree program, applicants must have completed a general university entrance qualification (Abitur) or a comparable university entrance qualification.
All candidates shall sit a a written selection procedure. On the basis of submitted application documents, the selection committee invites candidates for selection interviews. Admission to Bachelor courses is carried out after the selection interviews. German students are expected to have knowledge of English at the level of the Certificate of advanced English (CAE). For the choice of the second language French or Spanish additional knowledge of about secondary school level is expected in the respective language. For Russian no prior knowledge is expected; very good knowledge of German is expected from foreign students, to be proven by the German language examination for university entrance (Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang - DSH: Level 2) or a comparable certificate, and English at CAE level (test in the second part of the selection procedure).

Information regarding Studienkolleg
Applicants with a foreign university entrance qualification that does not grant them direct access to university education in Germany pursuant to the qualification comparability regulations of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs must attend a Preparatory College (Studienkolleg) prior to studying. General information about the degree program
The bachelor programme International Relations is a combination of the fields of international economics, international law, and international politics. Students are able to specialize in one of the core areas. Furthermore, students are trained in two modern foreign languages, English and either French, Russian or Spanish. In the first two semesters students receive a profound education in the methodology of economics, politics and law.
Students are also expected to complete a six-week internship and to study abroad during their fifth semester.
The program is split into a compulsory part with fixed subjects (91 ECTS) and a part where students can select and specialize (89 ECTS). Subjects include inter alia statistics, micro- and macroeconomics, international law, law of the European Union, introduction to international relations and European integration. Students are free to choose in which field to write their bachelor thesis.
Due to the limited amount of students the atmosphere is familiar and the supervision very good.
