Presentation of the Faculty
With 28 professorships and two junior professorships, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, with its motto "Thinking in Systems", is one of the large faculties at the TU Dresden. The offerings in teaching and research are correspondingly diverse and cover the entire spectrum of the field: from human-machine interaction to micro- and nanoelectronics, from energy systems of the future to biomedical engineering.
The faculty has excellent networks not only with international universities and research institutions, but also with industry. Thus, students receive a practical education and can establish valuable contacts for their professional future at an early stage.
Alumni Profiles
Electronics Engineer links international security systems After finishing his schooling in Ethiopia with honors, Paulos Gorfu Abraha came to Dresden to study electronics at TU Dresden. His older brother served as a role model, having already received a degree in electronics and electrical engineering. After having held several high-level positions in Ethiopia, Abraha now works at a security company in Bavaria which operates worldwide. further information
Dancer, Lieutenant, Designer and Boss Xenon co-owner Hartmut Freitag still benefits to this day from his engineering studies at TU Dresden – and the company draws on the university's pool of young talent. Besides studying precision instrument engineering, he also became group leader in the student folk dance ensemble, which, curiously enough, enabled him to obtain his doctorate. further information
