Audit Family-friendly University
On September 29, 2023, TU Dresden was certified as a family-friendly university for the sixth time and, after 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019, once again received the "audit familiengerechte hochschule" award. The external experts thus confirm the success of the existing family-friendly measures and TU Dresden's concept for further development. In the course of the re-audit "Dialogue Procedure", TU Dresden concluded a new action program 2022-2025 with berufundfamilie Service GmbH.
Since 2007, TU Dresden has been able to implement a large number of measures and projects as part of the family-friendly university audit in order to create better framework conditions for the compatibility of studies/work and family, e.g:
- Family service facility Campus office Uni with child
- Regular and flexible childcare services
- Uni-Schnuff welcome gift for student and employed parents
- Flexibilization of studies by means of extended disadvantage compensation regulations, part-time study options, e-learning offers
- Service agreements on flexible working hours and mobile working
- Advice map for the areas of equality and family friendliness for employees
- Advice map for students / prospective students, including offers on the topic of family friendliness
- Independent care advice and digital care guide
- Annual appraisals taking into account the compatibility of work and family life
- Establishment and needs-based optimization of the process for implementing the Maternity Protection Act for female students
- Service-oriented redesign of the website for family friendliness
- Dual-career service for newly appointed professors
- Welcome service
- Course, meeting, event and sports offers for families
- Family-friendly infrastructure, e.g. parent-child work/study rooms, CampusKiste playground, table tennis table, TU-WAS path
- Regular student and employee survey on the compatibility of studies/work and family life
- Handout "Equal opportunities in appointment procedures" and statistics sheet "Gender equality monitoring in appointment procedures", taking into account the issue of work-life balance
- Publication of the "Diversity@TUD" factbook with facts and figures, including on the topic of family friendliness
- Signing of the "Family in the University" charter and joining the association of the same name

The "TU Dresden family-friendly university audit project group" and the "Family friendliness advisory board" were established to set up and implement the audit. The Vice-Rector University Culture is responsible for the family-friendly university audit. The project is coordinated by the Coordinator for Family Friendliness in Unit 9.3 Diversity Management.
