Do your part: New Video on saving energy at TU Dresden
“Do your part – make an impact!” and “Every degree counts!” are the energy-saving mottos that TUD has adopted over the last year. And science confirms the benefit of the measures we’re taking. “Room temperatures can be effectively limited. We see that these savings are relatively high, so we can say it's worth it,” says Professor Clemens Felsmann, Head of the Chair of Building Energy Systems and Heat Supply.
This new video provides insights into current research at TUD on energy conservation. “I always knew that energy was something valuable,” explains chemist Janine Richter, who has dedicated her doctoral research to energy-efficient methods of metal production. Even the team of the Vodafone Endowed Chair is working on energy-efficient electronics. In other words, they are looking into how we can increase the data rate tenfold while maintaining the same energy input. Our Facility Management has also set its course in the direction of energy conservation. One of the ideas they are focusing on is recovering the waste heat from the High-Performance Computing Center.
