Equal opportunities in organizational units and research projects
Unit 9.3 Diversity Management implements university-wide equal opportunity measures and advises the organizational units in the design and implementation of their own measures.
Since 2012, DFG-funded collaborative projects have been supported in the development and implementation of equal opportunities measures by Unit 9.3 Diversity Management in cooperation with Directorate 5 – Research (flyer). Programs coordinated by the DFG can effectively contribute to improvements in the areas of gender equality and family friendliness at TU Dresden with the DFG's equal opportunity funds.
Our services
- Support with applications for coordinated programs (text modules for the application can be requested from Dr. Katrin Pflugbeil of Unit 5.1).
- Advising on the development of measures and their implementation within coordinated programs
- Development and coordination of cross-program or university-wide measures in which individual programs can participate
- Contacting the DFG in case of questions
Measures at TU Dresden
Career advancement measures
- Advising and support in the implementation of career advancement measures (e.g. soft skills courses; leadership and management training, continuing education courses)
- BeWISE 2018 conference for women early-career researchers
Balancing family life and a career in research
- There are around 60 nursery places reserved for children of TU employees (contribution to operating costs)
- Flexible childcare during professional appointments, pick-up from kindergarten
Other
- STEM mentoring for girls in school, promotion of young talent (participation in overall funding)
