Maibaum 2019 – Training Internationaler Bändertanz
MAYPOLE 2019 – TRAINING INTERNATIONAL RIBBON DANCE
On Saturday, April 27th, at 11 o’clock, a maypole will be erected by local carpenters and bound in ribbon by 30 students and scientists from TU Dresden. The traditional ribbon dance with green and white ribbons as the Saxon colours will be performed by internationals from all over the world with their own national costumes. Through this event also Dresden keeps its traditions alive in the urban environment. The event is open to all interested people for viewing at the opening of the Dresden spring market on Dresden Altmarkt Square. Afterwards theFolk Dance Ensemble "Thea Maass" of TU Dresden shows more traditional dances and all guests are invited to join in some fun and easy folk dance choreographies.
To help that the dance can be shown, you are invited to participate in the dancing project, which trainings startonThursday, April 2nd, 7 to 8.30 p.m., at Alte Mensa, Mommsenstr. 13. Further training sessions will follow on Thu, April 4th, Thu, April 11th, Tue, April 16th, Tue, April 23rd, Thu, April 25th. The practice takes place from 7 to 8.30 p.m.
