Summer Cinema: The Color out of Space
Finally, events can take place again and you can meet friends or get to know new people in the fresh air. Starting on June 25, the student-organized "Kino im Kasten" (KiK), in cooperation with the Department Campus Life and the StuRa, will be showing films on the lawn in front of TUD auditorium every Friday from 9 PM, for five weeks. Admission fee? Only good mood and anticipation of a cineastic experience.
On Friday 16th we will show the film The Color out of Space (English Original with German subtitles)
A mysterious meteorite strikes the Gardner family's alpaca farm, bringing strange changes with it. Cult director Richard Stanley ("Hardware") directs the short story by H.P. Lovecraft (1927) as a psychedelic B-movie, from the producers of "Mandy", again starring Nicolas Cage. (Source: Drop-Out Cinema)
Stanley's film chooses the style of a horror B-movie, but pushes the boundaries of the genre due to its outstanding audiovisual execution. Nicolas Cage plays a wonderfully over-the-top role and the score was composed by the famous avant-garde saxophonist Colin Stetson.
