Description
This seminar is primarily aimed at students enrolled in teacher training degree programs. The course trains voice and diction specifically for future professional application. Various practical exercises will train physiological breathing, vocal and speaking techniques. The content is presented each week in the form of educational videos, reading assignments and lecture transcripts. Students practice at home (for example, with roommates and family members), produce regular recordings of themselves (audio & video) and receive individual feedback from the group and the lecturer. This gives them the opportunity to test out and reflect on their own verbal and non-verbal communication habits. The goal is to develop an audience awareness as well as a lively and authentic presentation style. At the end of the seminar, the students will each hold a vidcast of a 6-minute keynote, which will be evaluated by the other course participants via a differentiated feedback survey.
