Description
In the seminar, we explored new digital forms of science communication from a linguistic standpoint. We used science communication surrounding the current COVID-19 pandemic as our case study. In the research projects that we completed during the semester, we analyzed the podcast “Coronavirus Update” with Christian Drosten, the YouTube videos from MaiLab, the Wikipedia page on COVID-19 and other examples of communication with a view to linguistic and visual knowledge sharing strategies. We also tried out our own hand in the realm of science communication by preparing and publishing the results of our analysis in a digital form (YouTube videos, Padlets, blog posts). This included an interview with the award-winning science journalist Korinna Henning.
