Short description
In light of the challenges posed by climate change, the scarcity of resources, and the accelerating pace of urbanization, it is imperative to undertake a comprehensive review of the existing building stock and to implement measures to ensure its long-term sustainability. The objective of this research project is to establish a foundation for a forward-thinking building strategy and to facilitate the transition towards sustainable and resilient construction methodologies. The objective is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the current building stock of the public sector at the portfolio level, with the aim of making a well-founded assessment of its future viability. The objective is to ascertain which buildings are capable of meeting future requirements in terms of sustainability, adaptability, and energy efficiency, and to identify the measures that are required to address existing deficiencies. At the conclusion of the project, clear recommendations and future scenarios for the further development of the building stock will be provided.
To this end, comprehensive data on the current public building stock is collected, including information on structure, use and technical equipment. The building stock is then analyzed in detail and divided into different categories in order to identify specific characteristics and weaknesses. Based on the data collected, the sustainability of the buildings will be assessed. The focus is on criteria such as changeability and adaptability, environmental sustainability, and energy efficiency. A comprehensive assessment is conducted to determine which buildings will meet future requirements and what measures are needed to improve them. Finally, different future scenarios are created, and the potential of the building stock is analyzed in order to develop sustainable and resilient strategies.
This research project provides valuable insights into the condition and future viability of the building stock. The recommendations and scenarios will enable decision-makers and building owners to take informed action and pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient built environment.
