Interlocking and signal boxes in the laboratory
The stations are equipped with the following interlocking technologies:
Station | Interlocking technology |
---|---|
Bf Adorf | relay interlocking of type GS II Sp 64 b Spurplan |
Bf Dornbach | two dependent mechanical interlockings of type Einheit |
Bk Feldberg | mechanical interlocking of type Einheit |
Abzw Grüntal | trapped key interlocking |
Bf Schwarzburg and Abzw Crottendorf |
relay interlocking of type GS II |
Bk Moorhof | automated block signal (controlled by Crottendorf) |
Bk Klausenburg | relay interlocking of type GS II |
Bf Neustadt | electronic interlocking (BEST Fa. Scheidt&Bachmann) |
Bf Waldhof | teaching interlocking (in-house development) |
Bf Zellwald | two dependent electromechanical interlockings of type E43 |
Uz Bischofswerda of the Bz Leipzig (Dresden-Neustadt – Bautzen) |
ESTW-Siemens as operation and interlocking simulation (BEST) |
Explanation: Abzw – Abzweigstelle (junction); Bf – Bahnhof (railway station); Bk – Blockstelle (block post); Bz – Betriebszentrale (signal control central); Uz – Unterzentrale (sub central)
With the exception of Waldhof station, the original interlocking and blocking technology is installed in each case. All controlling devices are present and functioning. They have to be operated just like in reality and also serve the purpose of safety training.
Each station is connected to a station computer (BfR) which evaluates the operating actions and forwards them (see "Control of the system" ). Several and/or different interlockings may be connected to a station computer for controlling the station (e.g. Bf Adorf ).
Waldhof station is operated via an interlocking interface developed at the TU Dresden and optimised for teaching purposes (teaching interlocking), which sits directly on the station computer and may also be used at the other operating stations.
The open track is secured by manually operated, semi-automatic, fully automatic track block (self-block, central block) or linear train control (LZB).
The block stations Feldberg and Klausenburg may be switched to automatic operation (setting of signals and block operation by PC).
