The 4D-Community-Browser is a further development of the 4D-Browser, which was developed in the BMBF junior research group HistStadt4D and offers multimedia access to historical photographs. Mit dem 103. Geburtstag Erich Kästners am 23. Februar 2002 jährte sich gleichzeitig der 2. Geburtstag des Erich Kästner Museums. Im Herzen der Stadt Dresden hat es sich durch sein neuartiges ressourcenschonendes Konzept, seine interaktiven Komponenten, den Brückenschlag zwischen Vergangenheit und Zukunft, durch die Verknüpfung verschiedenster vitaler Gesellschaftsbereiche und, in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Dresdner Literaturbüro, durch ein vielfältiges Veranstaltungsangebot zu einem lebendigen Ort der Kommunikation entwickelt. Mit der Unterstützung eines wachsenden Sponsorenkreises und zahlreicher Kästner-Enthusiasten war es möglich, das Museum auch 2001 weiter erfolgreich aufzubauen. Nahezu 15 000 Gäste haben bisher im ersten interaktiven mobilen Micromuseum der Welt in der Villa Augustin am Albertplatz die komplexe Kästner-Welt erobert, darunter viele Dresdner Bürger, Schulklassen sowie Touristen aus dem In- und Ausland. Über den Multimedia-Kern hinaus ist das Museum inzwischen auf sechs der geplanten dreizehn Säulen angewachsen. Auch im kommenden Jahr werden Sponsoren gesucht, um die noch fehlenden Bausteine ergänzen zu können. Mehr als 40 000 Interessierte aus aller Welt besuchten im letzten Jahr unsere Homepage. Damit man zukünftig von jedem PC der Welt aus die facettenreiche Schriftstellerpersönlichkeit Erich Kästners entdecken kann, soll in diesem Jahr ein bundesweit einzigartiges Vorhaben umgesetzt werden: das virtuelle Erich Kästner Museum. Wie im realen Museum wird man sich einzelne Exponate anschauen und auf eine virtuelle, abenteuerliche Reise auf den Spuren Kästners gehen können.
