The 4D-Community-Browser is a further development of the 4D-Browser, which was developed in the BMBF junior research group HistStadt4D and offers multimedia access to historical photographs. Mit dem internetbasierten Konferenzmanagementsystem (WebEOS) ist ein System zur Verwaltung von Konferenzteilnehmern, Bewertung und Organisation eingereichter Tagungsbeiträge sowie zur Abrechnung von Teilnehmerbeiträgen von Grund auf überarbeitet, re-designed und in seinen Funktionalitäten erweitert worden.
Das neue System, das den Professuren an der TU Dresden in Kooperation mit dem Medienzentrum ermöglicht, in einfacher Weise Konferenzen anzulegen und Beitragseinreichungen zu organisieren, bietet zusätzlich Informationen zum Auslastungsgrad benutzter Räumlichkeiten sowie zu benötigten Gerätschaften usw.
Auf Basis von Template-Sets lässt sich das Design sowohl dem TU Standard, aber auch an individuelle Bedürfnisse, u. a. Farbgestaltung oder Mehrsprachigkeit, anpassen.
Das Medienzentrum betreut das System und hat das Hosting sowie die weitere Entwicklung des Systems übernommen. Zur Zeit wird das System u. a. für die E-Learning-Konferenz des Sächsischen Staatsministeriums für Kultus (SMK), der 5. Tagung der Fachgruppe Medienpsychologie der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Psychologie "Medienpsychologische Forschung in der Wissensgesellschaft" sowie von der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Erziehungswissenschaft (DGfE) eingesetzt.
Mit der Einführung des Systems werden kommunikationsintensive Teilbereiche der Konferenzorganisation automatisiert und der Gesamtaufwand verringert.
