Portrait of Professor Kyosev
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Yordan Kyosev has held the Chair of Development and Assembly for Textile Products at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology at since August 2019. He was born in Swilengrad/Bulgaria in 1973.
Without assembly technology for textile products ... we would all be walking around naked, we wouldn't be able to sit in a car or on a soft chair, we wouldn't be able to skydive or spend the night in a tent, no firefighter would be able to put out a fire and no one would have been able to fly into space.
Being a professor... is the honor of imparting knowledge to other people, but also of showing each person the right path with patience and sensitivity until everyone has found their own place in life.
Students ... are my daily partners with whom I discuss the innovations in my field. The students' dreams, their technical visions and problems keep me young - I'm happy about that. But being a student also means having the stamina and patience to practise properly - despite the technology that does almost everything for you these days.
In the future... everything will be more complex, more interdisciplinary, more exciting & hopefully we will be able to develop all products purely virtually without expensive tests.
If I could study again ... I would have studied medicine so that I could help many people directly. But I've always had too much respect for the complexity of the human body.
Excellence ... means working thoroughly, systematically, properly and, above all, interdisciplinarily with a large network.
