TU Dresden successful in four Erasmus + project proposals
As in previous years, university academic staff participated very actively in the Erasmus + tender in 2020. Ideas for cooperation projects with European or non-European partners came from various fields such as mathematics, architecture or medicine. EPC staff members actively supported all these applications. With the start of the new academic year, all selection results have now been published.
Under the academic direction of Gerard Cullen from the Centre for Applied Languages and Culture (LSK) and supported by Professor Christian Prunitsch, the LSK Director and Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies the TU Dresden is the consortium leader of an Erasmus + capacity building project with a volume of almost 1 million euros. This project is focused on the development of English as a Medium of Instruction skills at Russian and Armenian universities.
In addition, a partner project from the Erasmus + program line Strategic Partnerships, also under the academic direction of Gerard Cullen and supported by Professor Christian Prunitsch deals with the development of teaching skills relating to intellectual property for university staff. The lead partner of the European consortium is the Institute of Technology Limerick.
The “Friedrich List“ Faculty of Transport and Traffic Science acquired further projects, in which the TU Dresden is involved as a partner. An Erasmus+ Capacity Building project coordinated by the Vienna University of Technology aims at the development of interdisciplinary courses at the interface between Geomatics and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Sri Lanka, for which Prof. Regine Gerike is responsible at the TU Dresden.
An intra-European project will deal with the development of innovative international courses in the railway sector over the next four years. A large consortium of 32 partners, led by the University of Genoa, includes potential employers with companies such as Siemens and Deutsche Bahn. The scientific management of the project at the TU Dresden lies with Dr. Elena Queck at the chair of Prof. Jochen Trinckauf.
The financial volume of the activities carried out at TU Dresden in these four projects here amounts to around 570,000 €.
