The Leopoldina will award the following prizes in 2025

• Cothenius Medal (for outstanding scientific lifetime achievement to members of the Academy)
• Carus Medal (for younger scientists for significant scientific discoveries or research achievements in a field represented in the Leopoldina)
• Schleiden Medal (for scientists for outstanding findings in the field of cell biology)
• Leopoldina Prize for Young Scientists (for young scientists with remarkable scientific achievements, whose doctorate was awarded no more than 5 years ago)

All Academy members and all senators are entitled to nominate candidates for the awards.
