2024 - FILM EVENING: How are other food systems possible?
Are you interested in sustainable nutrition? Do you know the connections between our food consumption and soy production in Brazil? How do you see the connections between the global and local food markets? What concrete ideas can we publicize and disseminate to promote sustainable nutrition in Saxony? These and other questions will be discussed in a cozy room of the Umweltzentrum Dresden e.V., to which the Chair of Nutrition and Home Economics and the Didactics of the Professional Field cordially invites all interested parties.
The short film "Soy - The Curse of the Golden Bean" (2006, 15 min) will be followed by a panel discussion in which various stakeholders will share their knowledge and ideas on sustainable food systems. Co-organizers are the LFD - Fachstelle für Medien und Bildung e.V. and the Ernährungsrat Dresden und Region.

2024 - winterschool of the BAG EH
The winter school of the Federal Working Group for Vocational Education and Training in Nutrition and Home Economics (BAG EH) took place from 19.02.-22.02. 2024 on the topic of "Digitization in the Vocational Field of Nutrition and Home Economics - Implications for the Vocational Department". There were a total of ten contributions on the topics of Digital learning environments, gamification & game-based learning, digitalization in the professional field, (text-based) artificial intelligence. In keeping with the theme, the event was held in the virtual 3D learning environment AVILAB II from TriCAT spaces®. 62 participants were registered, including university teachers, teacher training staff, teachers from vocational schools, students and SMK staff. We would like to thank the CODIP of TU Dresden and all the speakers for their active support.
2022/23 - Climate Schools Saxony
Since the 2022/2023 school year, we have been supporting the climate schools in Saxony with a specific educational program in the field of "more sustainable nutrition". Together with student employees, we organize day workshops at (vocational) schools. You can find out more about climate schools on the corresponding websites of the Free State of Saxony and TU Dresden (school contact point).
2022 - Education@Refugee: Cooking with Ukrainian children
An educational offer for refugee schoolchildren from Ukraine: Students and scientists of @TUD in cooperation with @DIU, @TUDIAS and @EIPOS supported Ukrainian families in the Dresden area.
Among other things, they cooked together once a week from March 11, 2022 to July 13, 2022 in the teaching and experimental kitchen of the Institute of Vocational Education and Vocational Didactics. The offer was aimed at children and young people aged 6-16 years.
2021 - Play "FOODOLOGY" by the TUD student theater "Die Bühne"
BATTLE OF FOOD CULTURES - A SPECIAL MENU- Food can be delicious, disgusting, healthy, expensive, environmentally friendly, regional and much more. And food is everywhere - and we eat all the time - and everyone eats. Food goes through the stomach and through the mind. And that's why many people talk about food, recommend foods to each other, warn against them or argue about the "right" diet. Food is a good way to make a world view, a philosophy, an ideology, a substitute religion out of eating.
In FOODOLOGY, seven very contradictory concepts of nutrition collide. The audience is served a menu of seven courses, one for each nutritional philosophy. Which will prevail? This much can be revealed: taste is a great subject for debate.
FOODOLOGY is a research-based, collectively developed evening of theater.
