The workshops and laboratories at the Faculty of Educational Sciences
In Educational Sciences, the term “workshop” stands for a form of learning, in which practical and self-active learning, learning through one’s own experiences, and inquiry-based learning are emphasized. There are various workshops and labs at the faculty. You can find detailed information on both of the following pages:
Workshops for Teaching, Learning, Research and Laboratories
Chemistry Laboratories
The future teachers of chemistry, laboratory and process technology, color technology, and WTH develop their experimental skills in our two chemistry labs with regard to the safe conducting of chemical engineering experiments, facilitating a fascinating lesson. Strict adherence to health, occupational, fire and environmental protection regulations under the conditions set out by the school is the main focus.
Educational Teaching and Research Workshop (ELF)
The ELF is designed for all students who are interested in creating innovative teaching and learning experiences and reflecting on them in a group. The includes the following: Certificate teaching.learning, collegial case consultation, competency training, and a tutoring program.
Early Education Research and Teaching Laboratory
The “Early Education Research and Teaching Laboratory” is part of the Chair of Social Pedagogy at Technische Universität Dresden, and offers a number of services.
Art Laboratory
The Art Laboratory is a teaching-learning setting for testing a novel elementary school-specific art education. Conceptually, it moves between a studio - as a place for artistic experimentation - and a learning workshop - as a space for diverse open mediation opportunities - and therefore designs an innovative perspective on teaching and learning in the subject of art.
Learning Laboratory for Color
Experiencing, discovering and understanding color. Following this approach, the Learning Laboratory for Color of TU Dresden presents phenomena and research questions on the topics of color and light by researchers and students for different target groups.
Primary Education Research Lab (LuFo)
The Primary Education Research Lab (LuFo) aims to provide a space for self-organized, exploratory and research-based learning for students and teachers. In a stimulating learning environment, they can familiarize themselves with appealing methods and teaching materials that support forms of self-determined learning. The process of developing and testing one’s own ideas regarding the design of lessons and materials is intended to stimulate the student’s reflection on children’s learning processes. On top of this, the LPrimary Education Research Lab aims at developing and realizing (student) research projects.
Learning Workshop Health and Nursing/Vocational Didactics
The Learning Workshop at the Chair of Health and Nursing/ Vocational Didactics is a learning setting for students to exchange ideas on selected questions and problem areas in the context of teaching and learning in the educational programs of the health professions, to prepare and follow up on study contents, to explore and analyze curricula for selected educational programs of the health professions, and to develop learning opportunities for selected educational programs and learning materials.
Learning Workshop Technical Teaching (LuFT)
The “Learning and Research Workshop for Technical Teaching” is aimed at teacher training students in vocational education and elementary school pedagogy at Technische Universität Dresden. The “LuFT” is a cooperative project of vocational education and of the subject Work of Primary School Pedagogy.
