QuaBIS - Qualification of education and inclusion officers
We, the education and inclusion officers at the TUD, have been around since May 2019. We started out as education specialists, but later changed our name.
QuaBIS stands for "Qualification of education and inclusion officers in Saxony"
People with experience of disability work in the QuaBIS project from Monday to Friday. We learn how to combine our knowledge with topics that are important for teacher training, for example. We then pass on our knowledge in seminars and workshops. We learn and work at the same time.
QuaBIS also exists in Leipzig. What is special about the QuaBIS project is that we are part of the university. We are part of committees, conduct research and organize our own seminars.
In this way, we influence knowledge and help to ensure that the TUD can implement the requirements of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Our work shows that inclusion is necessary everywhere and how it can work. Not only at the university and not only for people with disabilities. HRK - "A university for ALL"
A lot has to change for this to happen. Change happens when we ask questions. We find the answers by looking for solutions together.
The QuaBIS project wants to work with others to change the conditions so that everyone can participate and without creating disadvantages for other people.
QuaBIS in teaching and research
We teach at TU Dresden and also give workshops outside the university. Here is an overview of our activities in teaching and research (only German).
Project goals of QuaBIS
