Winter semester 2025/2026
These lectures will take place in hybrid in the winter semester 2025/2026, so that participation will also be possible purely digitally and without attendance. The exercises will take place in presence.
Contents
Contents of the module are the basic process of human-computer interaction for audio-visual media, in particular the user-centered design process, methods for carrying out context and task analysis and for eliciting user requirements, also taking assistive technologies into account.
Further content includes interface, navigation and information design for various devices and interaction techniques as well as their implementation in graphical user interfaces.
Building on this, content includes the basic procedures for evaluating user interfaces, in particular heuristic and empirical procedures and methods for carrying out evaluations.
Information on enrollment and procedure
Please register for the course via OPAL:
OPAL course
There you will find current announcements, all materials, links to the online events and you can register for the face-to-face event.
The OPAL course allows you to access lecture and exercise materials, subscribe to course notifications (e.g. for exam announcements or changes of dates), discuss with each other via the forum and submit and grade exercises.
In order for an invitation to be sent, you must at least have registered for the first time in OPAL using the ZIH login and agree to the terms of use.
First semester students of computer science are usually registered via the semester groups of the ESE. Digital Humanities students are also registered in a group. All others please register independently in course and exercise groups.

Information on mental health The vocational training or qualification phase in the transition between school and later working life is a crucial and at the same time sensitive phase of life. You should therefore take care of your mental health, especially in challenging situations such as exam phases or before deadlines. You are welcome to use our OPAL resources on mental health (Mental Health First Aid, MHFA) as a starting point. |
