Mission statement
A security
The tradition of the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering and the responsibility for the present and future suggest that the basic principles of the Faculty's thinking and actions should be set out in a mission statement. It provides orientation for all members of the faculty and formulates the principles on which the faculty bases its work and its culture of cooperation. The Faculty's mission statement is embedded in the mission statement of TUD Dresden University of Technology.
The Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering is guided by seven guiding principles:
1. as a faculty, we offer an excellent education and encourage prospective engineers to work towards a future worth living for people.
2) We convey the fascination and social significance of technology in life.
3. we teach on the basis of and from the enthusiasm of lively research. We understand research and teaching as an experience and as the exploration of new territory.
4. our research activities are geared towards the social requirements of the future. We also align our educational concepts and structures accordingly.
5 Mutual respect, honesty and openness characterize the interaction between students, staff and professors.
6 Material, time and energy are valuable - we use them efficiently.
7. competence requires lifelong learning. We convey this to our students and exemplify it through continuous further training for all employees of the faculty.
Each guiding principle is explained by a short guideline. The formulations of the mission statement include all persons, regardless of gender.
