Objective: | The object of the project is the calculation of the backlash by taking the deformation under load into account, in order to detect possible interference disturbances and influences on the excitation and thermal properties of the model in the design phase. |
Approach: |
Starting from the geometry, the local deformations are calculated over all mesh positions and tooth pairs on both flanks. Based on the deformation vectors, deformed back flanks are derived and positioned in three-dimensional space to determine the spherical arc distance. In addition, the calculation in BECAL will be compared with FEM simulations of different mesh densities. The aim is to ensure the smallest possible deviation with a significantly shorter calculation time. |
Results: |
The result of the project is a new component in BECAL for predicting the operating backlash. The generated HTML graphic allows the backlash to be changed during operation. The software allows the study of bevel, hypoid, beveloid and spur gears. |
