The circle of supporters of the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology was founded on November, 21st 1991 in Dresden. Today (update: 09/2022), a total of 70 members (25 companies, 45 individuals) are connected by membership in the association, ranging from businesses in textile and ready-made technology, lightweight construction, test apparatus manufacture to various institutions as well as individuals from all parts of Germany.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dr. h.c. P. Offermann, who transferred the position as head of the institute to his successor Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Dipl.-Wirt. Ing. Chokri Cherif in October 2005, was elected honorary chairman of circle of friends and supporters of the ITM at TU Dresden on 10/07/2005.
In April of 2017, Dr. Aibibu took over as managing director of the circle of friends and supporters. She was elected at the general meeting of 2017 in accordance with the circle´s statutes. All members of the circle of friends and supporters thank Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Sybille Krzywinski for fulfilling this position with such great consientiousness, commitment and joy. Moreover, we would like wish Dr. Aibibu every success with future duties.
Purpose of the association:
Endorsement of research and education at the Institute of Textile Machinery and High Performance Material Technology:
- Suggestion of research Tasks
- Scientific conferencing on ongoing research Projects
- Financial support of research tasks for the purchase of equipment and Machines
- Support of the publication and transfer of research results for their quick practical use
- Endorsement of education by financial backing of student field trips and the improvement of practical course equipment
- Dissemination of information on the opportunities of on-campus (five years), Master (2 years) and doctorate studies at ITM
- support of the German Textile and Clothing industry
