To be admitted to the degree program, applicants must have completed a general university entrance qualification (Abitur) or a comparable university entrance qualification.

Information regarding Studienkolleg
Applicants with a foreign university entrance qualification that does not grant them direct access to university education in Germany pursuant to the qualification comparability regulations of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs must attend a Preparatory College (Studienkolleg) prior to studying. General information about the degree program
Computer science is everywhere: learning machines, autonomous cars, apps for everyday life - life is becoming digital, and computer science is the key to this.
Analyzing huge amounts of data helps with researching life or predicting the climate, virtual worlds simulate realities and future scenarios, robots support work. Almost every household appliance is programmable today. Computer science creates the conditions for this. In this lively and versatile scientific discipline, everything revolves around digital information, its systematic processing, storage and secure transmission.
To be fit for shaping the digital future, you need a broad knowledge of mathematics and theoretical, technical and practical computer science. The Bachelor's degree in Computer Science provides you with specialist knowledge in software engineering, human-computer interaction, information management and intelligent and distributed complex systems.
Study contents
In the first semesters, you will be taught the necessary knowledge of mathematics and the basics of computer science:
• Basics of algorithms and programming,
• Static structure and dynamic behavior of systems,
• Human-Computer interaction,
• Intelligent systems,
• Databases
• Operating systems,
• Cybersecurity.
From the third semester onwards, a broad introduction to modern computer science topics such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, interactive media, systems architecture, software technology, embedded and high-performance computing, computer graphics and data security takes place in parallel with the basics, with a variety of opportunities for in-depth study and preparation for the Bachelor's thesis. The fifth semester is designed to enable you to spend time at another university - preferably abroad.
