The six areas of activity of TU Dresden’s Sustainability Strategy
Globally oriented and locally anchored. At TU Dresden, we are working towards becoming an ecologically and socially responsible institution. Our ambitious Sustainability Strategy sets out clear goals that we want to achieve together. The university has pledged to achieve sustainable development through six areas of activity, 13 goals and an agile action plan for 2023-2030.
Governance
We will establish the structural and organizational prerequisites for sustainable development at TU Dresden in the long term.
Campus and Operations
We will, as a university, become climate neutral by 2035 and continuously minimize our use of resources.
Research
We will make a significant research contribution to solving environmental and climate-related issues and provide scientific support for sustainable change in society.
Teaching
We will provide our students with all the necessary qualifications for future-proof, responsible, and sustainable action in the spirit of education for sustainable development.
Digitalization
We will make our digital transformation processes ecologically sustainable and fair.
Dialog and Transfer
We will play a central role in the public discourse on the sustainable development of Dresden, Saxony, and beyond.
The corresponding working plan for 2023 – 2030 comprises 80 measures to achieve the targets. The Environment Commission coordinates the implementation and monitoring of all measures alongside the Vice-Rectorate and Directorate University Culture. Goals and measures are regularly evaluated and adjusted in line with an agile strategy.
