Shaping change and promoting "Education for Sustainable Development" - insight into the practical work of two universities
What skills do students need to help shape the future responsibly and fairly?
How can your own teaching and curriculum be developed in a didactically meaningful way in order to best prepare students as decision-makers for challenges in society and on the labor market of tomorrow?
The Green Office and the Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching at TU Dresden cordially invite you to two events in February and March, where you will learn about practical ways and possibilities to make university teaching future-oriented and sustainable. Registration options are linked. Please note that places for the workshop are limited.
Interactive online lecture on 18.02.2025 I 10 - 12.00 a.m.: Evidence-informed sustainability education: Debunking myths | fostering skills | shaping change
Tackling the current global and complex problems requires, among other things, transformative approaches in higher education. Myths about sustainability education often hinder its effective implementation. This lecture is dedicated to evidence-informed sustainability education, debunks common myths and shows ways to promote ESD competencies. Using current competence models, practical approaches will be presented to support teachers and university stakeholders in actively shaping change. The lecture combines scientifically sound findings with practice-oriented examples and encourages reflection on the challenges and potential of sustainable transformation in teaching.

Curricula 4 Future - Designing sustainable curricula
What are key competencies for sustainable development? How can they be promoted in teaching? How can they be anchored in the curriculum? In this interactive format, we simulate the spiral-curricular anchoring of key competencies for sustainable development in a fictitious degree program. We bring the structure, you bring the lively teaching! Optionally, the results can then be presented in a plenary session. If you are interested, you can reflect in advance on which of these key competencies (should) be the focus of your teaching or a specific module: Systemic thinking, anticipation competence, normative thinking, strategic thinking, implementation competence.
You are welcome to use the following material (especially p. 12 ff.): Molitor, H.; Krah, J.; Reimann, J.; Bellina, L.; Bruns, A.
