Making your Research Sustainable - Archival and Publication of Research Data (90-minute Workshop in English)
Keeping digital research data safe for at least ten years has become a common requirement of funders and research institutions like TU Dresden. Beyond that, the EU nowadays even demands publication of data, which has been collected or created by funded research, as Open Access. In this lecture, besides basic information on archiving and publishing research data, the following aspects will be addressed:
- How to select the correct data to preserve?
- How to prepare data, and properly describe it?
- Is there some motivation of publishing data, beyond the formal requirement?
- What has to be considered before publishing data?
- Which license to select?
- Where to publish data?
You will also get an introduction to OpARA, the institutional research data repository of TU Dresden (https://opara.zih.tu-dresden.de) and learn how to use OpARA.
