WELCOME TO DRESDEN
The fib SYMPOSIUM 2027 of the fib - Fédération Internationale du Béton will take place in Dresden, Saxony.
The city is located 200 km south of Berlin in eastern Germany. With 4.7 million overnight stays per year, Dresden is one of the most popular travel destinations in Germany. First mentioned in documents in 1260, the city has a rich history and tradition. Today, Dresden is the second largest city on the Elbe after Hamburg and the twelfth most populous city in Germany with around 570,000 inhabitants.
Following German reunification in 1990, Dresden has undergone impressive development and is now an important cultural, educational and political center of Germany. The TUD Dresden University of Technology (TUD) is one of the ten largest universities in the country and one of eleven German Universities of Excellence. The fast-growing and dynamic economic region, often referred to as "Silicon Saxony", is dominated by high-tech industry.
