Aims
The strengthening of reinforced concrete with textile surface structures can only be realised reliably if the theoretical basics are known and if the structural behaviour under the modified conditions can be numerically simulated in each individual case. In order to increase the load-bearing capacity, new textile strengthenings developed in this SFB are used.
The numerical simulation is intended to provide both prognoses concerning global system failure and predictions of local phenomena such as shear failure or delamination.
A numerical model has been developed for analysing and assessing the state of deformation and stress of textile strengthened reinforced concrete structures. This numerical model is based on layered hybrid elements with assumed stress distribution, which are successfully applied to the physically nonlinear analysis of reinforced concrete. By introducing an arbitrary number of discretely coupled parallel reference planes the classical layer model has been enhanced so that distortions vertical to the reference planes and shear strains between the layers can be considered discretely.
To account for the local phenomena shear failure und delamination in the interface between concrete and textile strengthening the relative displacements between corresponding points on both sides of this interface are determined. This discrete modification of the displacement field vertical and parallel to the interface combined with a phenomenological dependency between stresses and relative displacements for describing shear and delamination behaviour allows for a consideration of local phenomena in the interface.
For modelling the strengthening layer consisting of a textile mat structure embedded in a matrix of fine concrete both a smeared and a component orientated constitutive material description are introduced.
Methods
In view of the physically nonlinear numerical analysis of textile strengthened reinforced concrete structures with the aid of layered hybrid elements with assumed stress distribution the classical layer model has been enhanced by introducing an arbitrary number of discretely coupled reference planes so that distortions vertical to the reference planes and shear strains in interfaces between the layers can now be considered.- Multi-Referenceplane-Model

Results
The load-bearing behaviour of four textile strengthened reinforced concrete structures was simulated with the developed algorithms. The first two examples were used for verifying the numerical model. They are recalculations of tests carried out in the project parts C1 and D1. The load-bearing behaviour of real constructions – a slab-and-beam floor and a folded plate structure – was investigated in the examples three and four.
