The TUD Dresden University of Technology has concluded a cooperation agreement with Helpline Sachsen in order to provide better support, especially for international students and employees in crisis or emergency situations. This is a low-threshold and confidential offer of help in acute situations as well as with everyday challenges, such as contacting authorities, medical facilities or advice centers.
There is a particular focus on overcoming language barriers: All helpline volunteers speak German as well as at least one other language - including Arabic, English, Russian, Ukrainian, Dari/Farsi and, in future, Spanish. In an emergency, the helpline can also be used for language mediation if a direct emergency call to the police (110) or emergency services (112) is not possible.
