Neustadt station
The double-track "new line" (Klotzsche -) Neustadt - Waldhof (- Straßburg) runs through Neustadt station. Klotzsche is the interface between the system and the interlocking and operation simulation (BEST).
Neustadt station has only one passing track. In addition, there are three sidings (stub tracks), a shunting area and a level crossing with full barrier closure.
An electronic interlocking system (ESTW) from Siemens and the BEST training system from Scheid&Bachmann, which is also used to operate the level crossing and the local service area in the station area, are used to manage operations. Besides Dornbach, Neustadt is the only station in the laboratory with a key lock integrated in the interlocking. The key lock is used to secure the movements over the points into the shunting area with tracks 9 and 10.
