Waldhof station
As both the double-track "new line" (Klotzsche -) Neustadt - Waldhof (- Strasbourg) and the double-track "old line" (Eisenberg -) Zellwald - Klausenburg - Adorf - Waldhof (- Thalheim) run through Waldhof station, this station has the most extensive track facilities apart from the staging yard.
There is one passing track per direction for the new line. The three passing tracks of the old line are single-sided. There are three freight tracks and one service track.
There are six tracks (stub tracks) for parking groups of wagons and three tracks for parking locomotives. In addition, Waldhof station has one track for loading/unloading the "rolling road".
The interlocking may be switched between a Thales ESTW and a specially developed teaching interlocking. In the vast majority of exercises, the teaching interlocking is used to control the track elements in order to focus more on the complex operational processes.
