Reading Strategies in Business Process Models (ReadPro)
Experts and Novices differently perceive and process business process models. While experts are characterized with having acces to many complex schemas in their long-term memory and a high visual span, novices usually only have access to limited domain-related schemas in long-term memory and a limited visual span. On this basis, many differences between experts' and novices' reading strategies can be explained.
In this project, we aim to show evidence for different reading strategies of novices and experts using eyetracking. Based on this evidence, strategies for visual cuing and introducing hierarchy and can be further developed to give novices a more expert view in business process models.
