Initial funding Horizon 2020: EuProNet call for proposals 2018
The Saxon State Ministry of Science and the Arts (SMWK) opened its new call for proposals (EuProNet) in order to fund networking activities in Horizon 2020 ("initial funding") for the funding months August to December 2018.
The EuProNet project applications can be submitted to the Sächsische Aufbaubank (SAB) until 27 July 2018.
The requirement for this funding is a specific EU call in Horizon 2020. The requested funds may not exceed € 15,000 and have to be fully paid out in 2018.
As of March 2017, the SMWK has been supporting funding activities under the EU's EuProNet competitive research and innovation funding programme (eg Horizon 2020).
In addition to research projects within the framework of European Research Networks (ERA-Nets) and the implementation of networking activities in, for example, European Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), the funding scheme includes, in particular, the preparation of applications for participation in Horizon 2020 calls.
Excellence is the key to success in European Competition, but quite often the scientists can not prove their excellence due to a lack of resources and capacities. This leads sometimes that they do not participate in Horizon 2020 or other EU funding schemes.
This is where the EuProNet funding comes in - it can be applied for funding of e.g. additional staff, travel expenses or lectorates in English.
Further information on EUProNet can be found on the SMWK website and the application forms on the SAB website.
