ERDF/JTF InfraProNet 2021-2027: Call for proposals for research networks in public scientific institutions published
Within the framework of the ERDF/JTF research funding directive "InfraProNet 2021-2027", the call for proposals for funding of research networks at public scientific institutions in Saxony has now been published.
The aim is to fund cooperative, complex and value-added networks with a high sustainability value and very high innovation and future potential, which are also of particular research policy interest for the Free State of Saxony, are of high scientific quality and consolidate the special position of Saxony as a research location in accordance with the innovation strategy of the Free State of Saxony. The research topic to be selected must have no or only weakly developed network structures at the moment.
Universities and research centres, non-profit research institutions with the status of an institute, state academies of the Berufsakademie Sachsen according to the Saxon Higher Education Act as well as non-university research institutions institutionally funded by the federal and/or state government with a research location in the Free State of Saxony and university alliances whose task is research and transfer and which pursue neither a purpose relevant to state aid nor an economic purpose are eligible to apply.
The number of participations in networks is limited to three per institution (TU Dresden) when applying for funding. Each institution can only apply for funding as a coordinator in one network and as a partner in a maximum of two other networks. In addition, it can only participate as an associated partner without funding.
Networks must consist of at least six partners, including at least one university, one university of applied sciences and one non-university research institution. A maximum of three partners per network will receive funding.
The initial duration of the projects is 36 months. It is expected that projects will be able to start from 1 September 2024. The funding rate is up to 100%. The total budget of the call is estimated to be up to €22.5 million, with a maximum grant of €1.5 million per year and network.
The EPC accompanies the projects of the TU Dresden according to the announcement of the Vice Rector for Research 2/2023 and has to be involved in the two-stage application process. The EPC advises on funding conditions and the application process, is authorised to sign legally binding agreements with the SAB and has central access to the SAB funding portal for the submission of project proposals.
Due to the limited number of applications for funding mentioned above, there will be an internal university selection process.
