#################################################################
Dear Applicants!

The Transfer Office offers the possibility to proportionally support individual selected validation projects, which are of special strategic interest for TU Dresden, provided that those involved in the project make a contribution of their own. Such a strategic interest exists in particular if the validation project can be used to exploit an existing patent or property rights portfolio, to initiate a growth-oriented spin-off or to prepare a comprehensive strategic partnership with one or more companies.
Please note: The application shall be submitted in German.

With this call for applications, the Free State of Saxony intends to select and fund projects for the validation of research results as part of the individual project module of the ‘Validation Funding’ guideline through a competitive preliminary application procedure.
The validation of research results aims to test, prove and evaluate the innovation potential of promising research results and to develop possible applications. A successful validation of research results provides evidence of the functionality and both the technical and economic feasibility of these results.
Funding will be provided for projects for the validation of promising research results and their commercial exploitation potential. The project period is limited to 18 months and eligible expenditure/costs of up to EUR 250,000 EUR can be funded with a max. grant amount limited to EUR 225,000 ("validation project").
In addition, for institutions focused on fundamental research (universities as well as institutions of the Max Planck Society, Helmholtz Association and Leibniz Association) can be funded in the early orientation phase to explore a concrete field of application or the identification of application options ("orientation projects"). For orientation projects, the project period is limited to six months and the grant amount is limited to EUR 15,000. (eligible expenditure/costs of up to EUR 16,66.67)
The funding would amount to 90 percent of the eligible expenses if the project proposal has been accepted. Personnel expenses/costs that are already covered by public budgets and own contributions are not eligible for funding. In the subsequent disbursement procedure, only 90% of the settled and proven eligible costs can be subsidized (reimbursement principle). The own contribution must therefore be provided in “cash”.
