Interlocking theory and practice in teacher training programs
"At TU Dresden, the second pilot phase of the project to test a better theoretical-practical link in teacher training has started. After the autumn vacations, around 45 students travel to a school in Neusalza-Spremberg, Görlitz, Zittau or Löbau every Friday and accompany a school class in a team of four for a whole day of learning. After the introductory event at the end of September, the trainee teachers familiarize themselves with the local conditions and get to know their mentors and supporting colleagues. To this end, they visit their placement schools in the first weeks of October and prepare for their first days of learning together. These then start for the class team and the students after the Saxon fall break. The participating students benefit from their experience with the semester-accompanying school internship at the University School Dresden. They are supported in formats of ELF, collegial case consultation (KFB)."
